Be you and be proud to be who you are, if you have something to say, say it loud and proud!
“You have enemies? Good.
That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.”
Winston Churchill
This quote is such a keeper! Everyone needs to hear it often, and always remember it! I understand that sometimes it is so much easier to deal with a situation by sitting back, taking the high road and not causing a controversy. However, it is very important that you do take a stand at some point! You all have something inside of you that lights a fire inside, at least I hope so. It doesn’t need to be a huge political stand that you take. You just need to believe that you should fight for something within your lifetime! As we all know there is so many political issues, social issues, family issues and many other types of issues that are constantly dealt with by Americans. I believe that no matter what the issue you have 3 types of people that surround that issue, you have the ones you are passionate for the issue, others are passionate against the issue, then just the ones who are just very impartial and don’t really care enough to pick a side. As I said above sometimes it is very important for you to not say anything even if you are passionate about a side. For example if you just have a jerk of a boss and he is yelling at you for not seeing his side of an issue, or for reacting the way to did in a situation. In that case sitting back closing your mouth may just be the best way to go. No because you don’t care enough about the issue, but because you do have to learn to pick your battles, especially when it comes to your boss. J I just really want to make sure that everyone sees the importance of taking a stand sometimes in your life. I know people in my life who are on all sides of issues. I probably would not agree with most people who go out and protest and push what they believe, however, the fact that they do have that much passion and belief about something proves that they do have something amazing inside of them. I would never encourage nor be proud of a person for always sitting on a sideline. Especially the ones who like to take the easy road and sit on the sideline, but then like to complain about the outcome of a situation. If you feel that something needs to be done, or be changed about something within your life, you are the only one that can stand up and let your voice be heard! Do not be afraid to be who you are! You must think the way that you do, and believe in things you do for a reason. If you are nervous about speaking your mind and not looking educated about your choice then do some research before speak. Don’t be so scared that you never have an opinion or different outlook than someone close to you that you just never say what you have to say. Everyone has a right to have their opinion no matter how much anyone else may disagree with it. Be you and be proud to be who you are, if you have something to say, say it loud and proud!

I have a blog here called XpressOutLoud.today.com. I created XpressOutLoud because I believe that there is always a way to express (for me its writing) and for sure there is something to express about, but I hadn’t touched “the stand for something” issue.
We are, in many ways, defined by our ideas, values and passions. Many, like you say, should learn to be quiet sometimes and others to take a stand. But it is most certainly, more often than not, that people live life as spectators and involve themselves as little as possible even for what they believe to be true or right. I loved the quote and had never really thought about it that way. Great post keep them coming.
Thank you very much! I really like your quote
“We are, in many ways, defined by our ideas, values and passions.”
I think that is the best way to express the way that others perceive us! I agree that too many people live their whole lives as a spectator, in my opinion those are usually the people who you don’t have strong memories, or opinions about. I think another way to describe this is another quote saying, “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything!” Thank you so much for your quote it really got me thinking even more about this post!
