“We do not see things as they are; we see things as we are.”

“We do not see things as they are; we see things as we are.”

Talmud

Have you had that sort of realization moment in your life yet? I know that I have had quite a few! I think that it is very important to know that you do go through phases in your life! One day one situation may cause you to cry, while another day it may make you feel empowered and strong willed. The older that you get and the more you experience the more your responses change to typical situations.

When you were 14 and your parents grounded you retaliated by yelling or pouting or slamming doors. Now you obviously cannot be grounded, but if your boss tells you that you are on probation for whatever reason you respond much different, however, it is a lot like being grounded isn’t it? You are being punished for a decision you made by someone with a higher rank than yourself. When you get older you just learn that acting certain ways is just not acceptable. I know that sometimes certain people seem like they never get that common sense or common decency part of their maturity, I don’t really know how to how that happens.

I think that the main point is life is how to deal with things. We may not always handle a situation the best, or see eye to eye with the ones that we love. What really matters is that you understand you see things the way you do because you are all individual. A fault of my own is that I do not get why some people just don’t find the common sense in common situations!

Just yesterday while riding in the car I saw another car crossing lanes of traffic as well as a painted median to take an exit way too late. While doing all this insanity of driving, the driver was so scared to be driving so poorly that he couldn’t decide if he should cut the car off or not, but instead of stopping until the off ramp is safe he continues to stop and go towards a truck who tried to figure out what he was doing! As I see this I say “There is two options you stop or you go, it is that simple people!” My boyfriend then proceeded to laugh because he thought it was quite funny. I didn’t quite understand because I was like isn’t this driving 101?

I like to think that I am typically very patient, I have my bad days or rude moments, like we all do. But maybe I need to work on it a bit more, and realize that what seems like common sense to me in a situation may seem very different for another person in the same situation.
